The Village of Orland Park Police Department’s flooring search led them to nora rubber flooring and norament hammered, a floor covering whose wear-resistant, textured surface makes it a fitting choice for the extremely heavy traffic areas common in a law enforcement facility. In meeting with SRBL Architects, Deputy Chief Jerry Hughes expressed the importance of finding durable flooring that could be maintained efficiently, and ultimately portray a professional yet modern look. At the recommendation of the architect, building officials chose nora to stand up to the pounding of police boots and tracking in of elements from the outside. Additionally, the low-maintenance requirements of the flooring and the use of the nora pro clean system, which eliminates chemicals from the maintenance regimen, have fit in perfectly with the busy and unpredictable schedule of a law enforcement environment.
