Creating a space that felt less clinical and helped patients and families feel more at home in a quiet, recuperative environment served as one of the facility’s main goals during recent renovations. After trialing nora® flooring in several internal staffing areas, Portage Health employees immediately acknowledged the extra comfort that the floor delivers. As a result, the health provider installed noraplan environcare™ in corridors, mammography/bone-scan room and the cancer care center suite, taking advantage of the underfoot comfort, heightened acoustic properties and variety of color options nora flooring offers. With funding at a premium, Portage officials also needed flooring that offered them long-term value and a cost-effective maintenance approach. Maintenance officials had difficulty cleaning the carpeting before the renovation. The switch to nora provided them with a less labor-intensive, finish-free maintenance process that helps them contain operating costs.
