Co-op grocery store puts customer experience first

Viroqua Food Co+op is a community-owned food co-op offering local and organic foods in the beautiful Driftless Region of southwestern Wisconsin. “In a grocery store setting, it changes the sound of the whole store. Grocery carts don’t rattle, we can hear the music. For us it was revolutionary, coming from a polished concrete previously,” says Jan Rasikas, general manager of the Co-Op, “We are feeling the difference in comfort on our feet, it’s not slippery when wet, and the overall change in ambiance of the store delivers an improved customer experience.”

Additionally Riskas notes “We don’t break things anymore, with the added cushion of the floor. We’ve yet to have a full break when something drops.”

The co-op combines a commitment to natural foods, superior customer service and the building of a cooperatively run business. They emphasize organic and local foods and products to promote the long-term health of individuals and the environment. “Often, food co-ops have an environmental mission, and the fact nora was the right lbs. per square inch, went down with no VOC glue, and is comprised of mostly natural material, it was the perfect selection tying in to our values,” says Riskas.
