„Nora was chosen because it met all our requirements for a floor covering. In addition our sustainability target for this project is to achieve LEED silver certification; hence we wanted to go with the most sustainable flooring.“

Arzanah Medical Complex houses three specialist health care facilities: Wooridul Spine Center, the Abu Dhabi Knee and Sports Medicine Centre and a state of the art Wellness and Diagonistc Centre, all of which aim to provide the best healing experience for the patients. Hygiene, sustainability and comfort were the main drivers in designing this project. One of the features of the object is the Steel Exoskeleton, that stands out in the contemporary Abu Dhabi Architecture.
Challenge: Making sure that the colours are durable, non-toxic and contain few or no volatile organic compounds. This was ensured by nora’s statement of not using any heavy metals and the Greenguard Certificates it has provided. Secondly, the colours needed to be of a healing and relaxing nature, therefore they used light colours for corridors and a mix of light - dark brown shades for patient rooms to provide them with the wellbeing of home.
Project Requirements: The most important criteria were hygiene and ease of cleaning. The latter was met with no coatings statement which makes it easier and faster for their cleaning staff to remove all stains and dirt without worrying of losing the main functionality of the flooring. Keeping in mind that they also had to serve patients with knee injuries, the walking comfort was also a decisive factor for selecting the flooring.
