HPP Headquarters: Creative workshop with puristic floor design

noraplan^® uni supports the New Work concept and emphasises the inspiring design

Working World 4.0 is smart, digitised, modern and mobile: The aim is to give employees as much freedom and self-development as possible. Interior design plays a key role in terms of performance, well-being and motivation. This was also the central guiding principle in the construction of the HPP headquarters in Düsseldorf’s Media Harbour. The offices of the international architecture firm, acquired in 2020, were designed according to the New Work principle as communicative work environments with open space areas, think tanks, flexible workplaces, interactive spaces and silent areas. A ground floor lounge offers space for events and functions, while employees can relax during their breaks in the green courtyard. The new five-storey building, providing office space for a total of around 200 workspaces in addition to living, dining and event spaces, looks monolithic from the outside with its dark grey facade, whereas the interior design features plenty of light, air and bright materials. “The design concept focuses on the workshop character ,” explains Anika Hülser, Head of Interior Design and Associate Partner at HPP. The open ceiling structure and exposed concrete columns allow a clear view of the technology and promote a creative, informal atmosphere. The single colour noraplan^® uni rubber floor covering, which was laid in light grey throughout the entire building over around 3,300 square metres, blends seamlessly – in the truest sense of the word – into the modern industrial look with its matt surface. “noraplan^® uni was laid without joints, making the surface appear as if it had been cast, and thus supporting the studio idea,” continues Hülser. The single colour rubber flooring is available in 20 colours, offers an impressive clear design and simple elegance and is ideal for furnishing prestigious office spaces.
